Online - the customer side (additional notes)

This page provides additional notes regarding customer's use of an Online site. To view demo Online websites, please click here.

Sales:
In additonal to rentals your site can be setup up to sell products. If you have a physical store your potential customer base for sales is probably just a few thousand - with an online store is can be converted into millions! For both physical and online only stores this is an especially good way to sell off ex-rental inventory.

Website language:
By default online sites are in English however the site can be translated into any language of your choice - this is done as a customization after basic setup is complete.

Requests:
When a customer requests an item on your Online site it is immediately reserved for that customer and set to on loan on the Online site so that no other customer can double book the item. Note: to prevent abuse of this system by any given customer each customer has a limit set for the amount of items they can have allocated to their account at any given time.

Wishlists:
Each customer may maintain his/her own personal wishlist of items that they wish to see. All changes they make to their wishlist are downloaded to the main store database meaning that if you are running an Online only store you have the customer's wishlist easily to hand when processing transactions or if you are running a physical store the wishlist can also be accessed when the customer visits the store.

View My Status:
Each customer can view a full description of their current status in the "View Current Status" page. This page shows all information regarding a given item (both sales and rentals) at all moments in the order cycle (for both sales and rentals).

For Online only stores this gives your customers detailed tracking information so they always know what their current status is. When the item is requested it is shown as awaiting processing. When the store processes the item its status changes to either dispatched or rejected (if the store decided not to process the request for any reason). Finally, when the customer returns the item the status changes to returned and the date the return was processed by the store is displayed. In this way the customer can fully track all their items without having to contact the store directly saving hours of unnecessary administration time.

Additionally, when items are rented or returned through the transaction screen in Video Vision Plus online customers are sent an email (this option can be switched off if preferred) to notify the customer that their order status has been updated.

Payment processing:
If required payment processing for rentals (for pay-as-you-go customers) and sales can be incorporated into your site as a customization. The recommended payment processing solution is PayPal due to the ease with which it can be implimented.
